Question : AJAX load HTML into DIV

I have search throughout the web for loading HTML pages into DIV's to prevent the use of frames. I have found a common denominator of code almost as if it were a standard.

 I have implemented the code attached and it works perfectly in all browsers (including IE)... except one.... Google Chrome 5!!! It works in Google chrome 4, Does anyone know why or how I can fix it.

Here's an extension to allow you to load local files manually https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/jllpkdkcdjndhggodimiphkghogcpida but everything I can find says No No Never to what you want to do.  Someone else asked almost exactly your question on the Chrome forums too.  I don't know what people are using for a 'CD' browser these days.  That used to be a common thing.
