Question : UC540 newbie here cannot get UC540 to answer
Ok,
#1. I am a newbie at this, so bear with me.
I have a brand new UC540.
I have a 7945G phone connected to one of the PoE ports.
The phone is recognized by the UC540.
I have connectivity to the Internet.
I set up users, extensions, hunt groups etc.
I set up the Incoming Dial Plan as follows: FXO-0/1/0 with Destination Type of "AUTO_ATTENDANT1 (398)"
I recorded a Prompt using the Sound Recorder and an external microphone. Under the AA tab, my Menu Prompt = Cliff1.wav (the file I just created using the microphone and UC540).
Not sure if this matters, but I am using the AA script of: aa_sbcs_v02.aef
My AA extension is: 398 (but my 7945 phone does nothing when I call it)
My AA PSTN Number is the number I use to call my house (not sure if this is correct).
AA Mode is set to: Standard
I connected my analog phone line (FXO) to my FXO 0/1/0 port. This port is in an Active Status acc. to the Voice Trunk Settings.
When I dial my PSTN #, I get connected (acc. to my cell phone), but just get a busy signal.
When I disconnect my PSTN line and connect it to my regular analog phone, it rings.
I have not talked to the phone company about any of this, assuming I can use my existing analog phone line (I could very well be wrong here). Do I need to set up SIP trunks or something like that, with my telephone company?
