Can anyone answer if there is a difference in the SQL syntax between Oracle 10g and SQL Server?

Compact and Close will only come into effect what the last user closes the mdb, because C&R cannot occur if an LDB file is present.

Further, I would recommend turning Compact On Close off ... and do a manual C&R daily.
