Question : Problem with host only networking with VMware workstation 7.1
I don't have a solution, but I have also seen the same problem after upgrading from Workstation 7.0 to 7.1. My host is Windows 7. My guests are Windows Server 2003. Host-only VMs were able to map to network shares on the host, and cannot do so now. (Get error "The drive could not be mapped because no network was found.") In one case, I temporarily tried NAT mode to see if it could then map to the host share, and it was able to. Due to the nature of the VMs, this is not a good solution. Wondering if you've gotten any feedback or solved this? Does anyone know if VMware has changed the definition or implementation of Host-only networking?
Answer : Problem with host only networking with VMware workstation 7.1
Does the VMware Network Adapter installed on the host have TCP/IP enabled and have an address on the host-only network? If not, enable it and give it one.
