Question : 802.1q trunk
I have an 802.1q trunk to an interface from a cisco switch to a firewall and for some reason the vlan showing in the switch is vlan 1 vs the vlan's assigned in the switch. So when I check the mac-address the switch is receiving from the firewall it is showing connected via vlan 1 vs vlan 50. Do I need to setup a trunk on the firewall side as well?
Answer : 802.1q trunk
yes, for a proper trunk, both sides must define the connection as trunk
