Question : DLink DNS-321 NAS

I have a DNS-321 device with (2) 250GB hard drives. I have the availability of four different hard drive modes (Standard, JBOD, RAID 0, and RAID 1). Which one would be the best option to setup if the client only wants to use it as a net-workable hard drive to store files and do backups of data and their PCs?  If the hard drives get FULL, which I dont see happening for a long time, it would be easily changeable to a larger drive.

Thanks!

Answer : DLink DNS-321 NAS

It will be easy to add or change drives if they are set as Standard (you will see 2 drives on your store) or JBOD (you will see one drive, they will be filled second after first).
But for backup is better to choice between RAID 0 (speed, but not safe) and RAID 1 (safe, but only 250GB will be used).
I prefer for backup RAID1 - if one drive faults, second will work and data could be saved.
If you choice RAID - you had to change both disks to increase volume. At first - copy you data from storage, install new disks, initialize them, copy data back.
