Question : Accessing GPT drive on windows 7 from Windows XP
We have a 6TB SATA Raid device attached to a Windows 7 Pro 32-bit computer and have the single 6TB drive shared. Other Windows 7 Pro computer can see the share just fine, but Windows XP can't see the share and I'm guessing it has something to do this that 6TB drive being formatted as GPT.
Can Windows XP Pro be enabled to view a shared GPT drive from a Windows 7 Pro computer, or is there some other way to get this to work without having to reinstall anything perhaps downloading some type of add-in?
Thanks,
Peter
Answer : Accessing GPT drive on windows 7 from Windows XP
Unfortunately, the 32bit version of Windows XP does not support GPT in any way. The 64bit Windows XP and all other versions of Windows (With some exceptions on Windows 2003) do support GPT.
