Question : Strip Attachments From Exchange 2007
We have a procedure where we receive 100's of emails with PFD and TIF attachments to process everyday. Once we receive the mail we run a script from outlook to copy the attachments and email text (.txt) to a local drive from where the user processes the attachments. Once that is done they simply move the mail to a folder in outlook called completed or done. We keep these mail for 90 days and after ninety days we delete them. My problem is that some of the mailboxes have grown huge in size. So my question is that if there is a process or software that will remove the attachments from the mail on the server (not just outlook) and store them in a network folder, replacing the attachment with an index link, after the user processes the mail. Also when we delete the mail after ninety days, the respective attachments also delete automatically. If this sounds confusing please let me know and I can provide more info.
Exchange 2007 (SBS 2008)
Outlook 2010.
Thanks
