Question : ORA-00701: object necessary for warmstarting database cannot be altered

For a long time now, I have been receiving the error ORA-00701: object necessary for warmstarting database cannot be altered in my alert log every 10 or so seconds.. The error is like this

Errors in file /oracle/admin/prod/bdump/prod_smon_2199736.trc:
ORA-00701: object necessary for warmstarting database cannot be altered

Interestingly when i go to check /oracle/admin/prod/bdump/prod_smon_2199736.trc.. it doesn't exist... maybe one of my Junior DBAs have deleted it ...but even if it is deleted.. why it is not recreating? how else would i know the root cause of the error...

Answer : ORA-00701: object necessary for warmstarting database cannot be altered

In fd directory you have all file handles. Search for the one corresponding to the .trc maybe ls -l shows the link, or use lsof.
