Question : Free software to scan, crop 4 areas, save to .tif file with transparent background?
Hi folks!
I have a project where I need to scan hundreds of papers (white), select four 2"x2" areas (always in the same place on each paper), save each 2"x2" area to a separate .tif file with a transparent background (i.e. convert the white paper to transparent leaving any writing / images intact) and preferably save with lzw compression... am I asking for too much ; )
I've tried IrfanView, but I could only figure out how to get a transparent background with .gif file format. (and it doesn't have the ability to select more than one area at a time).
I would feel VERY BLESSED if someone can suggest alternate solutions for me... my project is painstakingly slow the way it is going...
Thanks!
Sam
