Question : How to block USB Disks using Windows 2008 R2 Domain Controller Group Policy

Gentlemen,
I have Windows 2008 R2 AD and Windows XP clients. I have been trying to use the builtin Group Policy settings of Windows 2008 to block access to USB Drives but didnt succeed. I tried Computer and User policies as well. When i notice the policy settings it says atleast Windows vista or 7 is required.

What is the work around in this regard ?

Answer : How to block USB Disks using Windows 2008 R2 Domain Controller Group Policy

Hi ArabSoft,

Import the attached adm into your local or new computer policy and then go to computer configuration-->Administrative Templates--->Classical Administrative Templates--->Custom Policy--->Restrict Drives--->then enable all polices and then force update and test.

Note: Change the extension of the attached file from .doc to .adm
