Question : HP Laptop w/ Vista freezing regularly
I have an HP laptop (G60-230US) that freezes regulalry during routine web browsing, or almost anything. Task Manager doesn't work and a manual power off/on is required. Since a Spyware Doctor full scan reliable freezes, that's what I'm now using as the test case.
Here's what I've tried so far:
- run full scan. Norton finds nothing.
- also tried Spyware Doctor. freezes when a full-scan is run, except when run in safe mode. Nothing found in Safe Mode
- cleaned up the registry w/ pctools option for doing this.
- run sfc /scannow. Got this message: WIndows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them(there is a log file listed, but I an 'denied access' even though I am logged in as an administrator)
