Question : Filezilla Server - Unable to configure it to connect via FTP client
I'm running Windows Server 2008 R2 and have just installed Filezilla Server. I followed the instructions and created a user named Administrator. I'm not a network guy by trait and don't really understand what IP goes where and what I need to do port wise.
Our network guy routed port 2121 to my Windows Server. Do I need to have Filezilla listen to 2121, or just 21? Right now, it's 21. Windows Firewall allows 21 in and 20 out. I also added 3850 - 3859 in Win Firewall. I set Filezilla to Passive mode to allow a custom range of 3850 - 3859. Still no luck connecting - it times out.
Any suggestions? Do I need to set anything in Win Firewall for outgoing?
Could it be a file permissions issue? What user should I grant on my ftp root folder?
Answer : Filezilla Server - Unable to configure it to connect via FTP client
If you are using set ports, you probably want to disable Passive mode (which is for public servers).
See

/ftp.html
for a definitive explanation of passive vs active mode.
