Question : Deploying local user policies, non-domain
I have some stand-alone, non-domain workstations I'm trying to apply local user policies to, specifically for office 2007 behavior. I attempt to copy over the entire contents of "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Group
Policy" from a sample machine, but the polices do not take affect.
When I open gpedit.msc, I can see all the settings are checked the way I want.
Even after gpupdate /force and reboot, the policies do not take affect.
However, if I open gpedit.msc and make and save a change of any kind, the screen flashes and *poof* all the policies begin to take affect.
Is their a better way to import local user policies or force local policies to take affect? I need to automate this and the required GUI interaction is the only thing holding me up.

I would capture the changes via the registry, and script them out......
*most* policies are easy to track down in the registry, using Process Monitor......
