Question : Grub menu in not loading on ESXi 4

Hi,

I am need to  reset a lost root password by accessing the grub menu and hitting the "a" key at the grub boot menu on an ESX 4 server but I am never seeing the grub menu. Would someone please enlighten me as to how get the menu to appear?

apparently, GRUB menu does not appear because it does not exist in the ESXi version
