Question : fully uninstall Acrobat 8.2.2

I've been using Adobe Acrobat for document building and editing every since Adobe Acrobat 4.0. Three years ago I upgraded to Acrobat 8.0 and have been very pleased with it.  I also opted not to receive any automatic updates, and everything was just fine for three years. About 2 weeks ago,  I installed something (possibly Adobe Reader 9) that undid my updates preferences.  I stopped upgrading at version Acrobat 8.2.2 installed, and my system started having all kinds of problems.  I set my Restore back 2 weeks, uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat 8, and it came up saying it was 8.2.2 again. It also mentioned '8.2.2 updates'.   In reading a number of sources on the internet, I see where Acrobat 9.0 has been plagued with numerous updates the pose serious security issues. That's why I want to stay with Acrobat 8.0, and rely on my own firewall and AV tools.  In summary there are apparently "Acrobat 8.2.2 updates" somewhere on my system, and want to uninstall them, so that I can get back to my good old Acrobat 8.0.   Can anyone help?  Thanks much!

Answer : fully uninstall Acrobat 8.2.2

Hi

I think you will have to get back to square one. And for that you need your initial installation CDs

First follow this to uninstall A8 completely:
http://go.adobe.com/kb/ts_kb400658_en-us

Then download the update that you want from here, if you don't want to upgrade to 8.2 only select 8.1 and then disable automatic update in preferences:
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows

You should install at least 8.1 as this fixes quite a few issues.
