Question : Elevate user security to admin in Windows 7

I've enabled the administrator account in windows 7.  I installed an application however I can't run it with my user account. I get the following.  

"The item referred to by this shortcut cannot be accessed. You may not have the appropriate permissions."

 I'm a domain administrator logging into a W2K3 server administered network.

Have you tried running the .exe directly without using the shortcut? Also right click the .exe and view the security properties. Also, I could not tell by your post but are you logging in as your domain administrator account or the local Windows 7 user account?
