Question : sbs 2008 windows update failing - error 8024402C

removed WSUS after it was determined not the best solution for a small SBS / 5 client installation.
Uninstall locked up during removal
c: drive now has about 40 gb of space missing that shows up when i look at the properties of the recycle bin, after choosing sto show protected operating system files

the main problem is sbs 2008 did not successfully revert to use windows update and continually fails with the error 8024402C

does anyone know:
how to repair this error - fix windows update
regain the missing space from the recycle bin

Try to reinstall wsus.
That what I would try.

If it is installed back. I recomand to read some tutorials about wsus and try to like it.
It is a good system.
