Question : Temporary URL in Plesk

Hello, I have been using cPanel for a long time and now I'm using Plesk. One of the major features I used in cPanel was the temporary URL of http://someip/~username/ to view client sites before switching DNS at the registrar. Specifically, I work with WordPress quite a bit and I always set the blog url to  http://someip/~username/ while I was working on it before switching the DNS. That way I can fully test the functionality.

However, in Plesk, the closest thing I could find is the "Site Preview" feature once logged into Plesk. The problem with this, is that you can't pass that preview URL into WordPress as the blog URL for testing purposes.

To some up my question, I need to know the temporary URL that I can develop from and test everything fully. Meaning, this URL would be the blog URL in WordPress while under development. These clients are on a shared hosting server, running Linux, Plesk, and all on the same IP address. Again, the equivalent of this temp URL in cPanel was http://ip/~username/.

Thanks!

Answer : Temporary URL in Plesk

If you create an account with Plesk for www.myblog.com, and install Wordpress to it, give the address www.myblog.com

It doesn't matter that www.myblog.com is actually hosted elsewhere on a cPanel server - if you set the hosts file on your PC to look at the Plesk server's IP address, you'll see Wordpress on www.myblog.com coming from the Plesk server: you don't need to use a temporary address.
