Question : NetApp FAS270 - invisible disk

I have a netapp fas270 with drives in every bay. Drive nine's light stays solid green, and doesn't show when I look at the list of drives in Filerview.

Is it the spare drive? Am I not utilizing a drive I could be?

Answer : NetApp FAS270 - invisible disk

not owned means that it isn't a spare.

What you need to do is assign the disk to a controller. You can only do this via command line.

The command is

disk assign 0b.25 -o TULNAS

This will assign it to the TULNAS controller and you'll see it in filer view and then should be able to assign to aggr
