Question : How do I remove old servers from backup Exec?

I have a strange problem with Backup Exec. Our tape backup unit has been sent away for repairs and until it comes back I needed an alternative backup device. I attached a 2Tb external hard drive to the server and ran the usual full backup job which worked perfectly. However, the differential backup, which runs Monday to Thursday, is producing some very strange results. It is trying to backup servers that have been removed from our network years ago! They are not in the selection list but they appear in the job log as a failed backup, obviously because they are no longer there! Does anyone know where Baclup Exec would be getting these old servers from and why it only effects the differential backup, the old servers do not appear in the job logs for the full backup.

Did you ever try to re-create the differential backup job?
Maybe because you used an old Selection List name from the drop down list bar and that including the non-existing server names.
Try to re-create the differential backup job and select the existing server name as a new selection list name.
