Question : Network XP Pro and Windows 7

I have an XP Pro computer that connects wireless to internet and network.  It sees all computers and printers.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate wired to router.  It sees everything.  Can log in to XP Pro.

Issue:  From XP Pro, I can't log into Windows 7 Ultimate computer.  (XP Pro sees it.)  I mapped the network drive from XP Pro to Windows 7 Ultimate and it won't open.  It says "inaccessible".

Answer : Network XP Pro and Windows 7

You need to disable Simple File Sharing on the XP machine, so that W7 machine can mitigate permissions. Follow instructions from the resources below and you will be able to accomplish this.
