Question : SQL has slowed down after DPM agent install

I have SQL server 2005 /SP2 and was working fine.
I have installed DPM 2007 agent to protect the server and SQL and now the machine is working fine and responsive but SQL appears to be slower.

We have a linked server that pipes information in and that is getting time out errors.

Does anyone have any ideas regarding this problem or a resolution?

Can I change the settings for timeing out errors to give the system more time to respond.

Answer : SQL has slowed down after DPM agent install

I have now taken a snapshot of the server and converted into a VM.  Once this was done the system appeared to work correctly with no issues.  This appears to be because the conversion to VM reset the VSS writers.

As we plan to convert the machines to VM and run anyway - this issue will not need to be fixed in the physical world and is gone in the VM world.
