which is more important for a better performing read/write for hard drive - cache or rpm?
i see the WD Velociraptor is 16MB cache and 10000RPM

which would be the faster performer and better buy?
this is for a server and will be 2 of these mirrored.

RAID1's can minimally impact HD performance depending on your RAID controller.
I'd go for the 10,000rpm. Even tough the cache is only 16MB your server should have enough processor speed to avoid the need of larger cache.
