Question : How can Broadband access be split between 2 ISPs?

Hi Experts,
Our school runs a windows 2008 SBS network.  SMTP, RWW, OWA is configured on the server and our router is connected to Eircom - a telecoms ISP.

Recently we have been provided with s secure internet service specifically for schools but we cannot run the server services through this network.  Therefore we need to use both ISPs.

Ideally we would like to make both IS's available to teachers and admin staff and the secure network available to children only.  Suggestions welcome!
Thanks in advance.

DrayTek Vigor 2950 :

DrayTek Vigor 2955

Both of the above routers are reasonably priced according to the features they provide

Now what you have (I Assume) is : Two RJ-45 Ethernet cable coming out of your TWO ISP provided routers ;

You would connect those two connections into the 2 (TWO) WAN Ports of a DUAL WAN Router (such as draytek 2950 or 2955), you would then create a "Load Balance Policy" according to traffic type "TCP, UDP" source destination IP Addresses.

This will enable any traffic for SBS Server go out of a certain wan port and children traffic go out of a certain wan port, those wan ports would be your children secure network LINE and one NORMAL LINE.

You can also have a look at : http://www.draytek.co.uk/products/vigor2820.html

These routers are rock solid, with a great support, i have configured many off them and have never looked back, they provide VPN connectivity and you don't have to purchase additional licenses for VPN Clients like cisco, you pay the price of the router and the features are yours.

The dual wan by draytek can work in Load balance mode, failover mode etc

Let me know if  you have any questions

You can even ring DrayTek UK and they will be more then happy to provide you with a demo url so you can check the feature out, make sure - if you do purchase this router, purchase it via there authorised dealer.

http://www.draytek.co.uk/contact.html

They have unlimited support for these routers and you don't have to pay the price of support, you get a local UK based landline number.
