Question : Why do I have Duplicate Folders in Outlook 2007 using Exchange Server?

Hello

I have recently upgraded to a very fast Dell computer running MS Office 2007 and Windows 7 Professional edition. When I link to the server I get duplicate contact and calendar folders. My other computer, running windows XP and MS Office 2003, does not have this problem. My partner's computer running MS Office 2007 and Windows 7 Home Edition does not have this problem either.

If I disable the cache, exit Outlook and restart, the duplicate folders are still there but if I open one, it either opens or I get the message "cannot open file" after which it disappears. If I repeat this for each duplicate folder, I eventually end up with all the correct single folders, both in contacts and calendar, albeit with a much slower computer. I do not get duplicate mail folders.

If I re-enable the cache, exit Outlook and restart, the duplicate contact and calendar folders immediately return.

One strange thing is that if I enter data in one folder, it repeats in the other, so the system is actually working, it's just that I have all these unnecessary folders (2 x 13) cluttering the navigation pane. Here's what I've tried:

I have unistalled MS Office and re-installed. No change.

I have run Outlook diagnostics. No errors, no change.

I have deleted my old profile and created a new one. No change.

I have disabled Kaspersky Internet security software. No change.

The problem seems to stem from the cache. Cache disabled - no problem. Cache enabled - duplicate contact and calendar folders.

Does anyone have any ideas please? Thanks.
