Question : SBS 2008 Backup to USB Flash Drive

Hi all,
I have a clean installation of SBS 2008 and am attempting to configure backups to a flash drive but unfortunately the SBS backup wizard is refusing to see the flash drives (Corsair 128gb drives) as usable devices. It sees other hard drive based USB drives fine and will back up to those. I've tried the following on the drives themselves:
1) A low level format of the drive
2) Formatted as NTFS
3) Tried using a "Flip Removable Bit" utility to make Windows see it as a fixed drive (no change/ineffective)
4) Changed the option for the drive in windows to Optimize for Performance rather than quick removal
5) Rebooted Server
Still nothing. I can't find any detailed information on the requirements of USB devices for the backups - doesn't anyone have any pointers?
