Question : Restricted access domain user group with special permissions for Access MDB/MDE files

I have an Access MDB client file that gets copied from a network share to a local folder prior to being run. There are about 35 users who do this. The MDB contains linked tables to a SQL back-end so it is essentially a front-end client and only one user is using each client at a time.

Currently users are running as Administrators (I know-very bad-that is what I am trying to fix) and I want to drop them back to being standard users. The problem I am having is that an error is being thrown when I attempt to open the MDB in the USER security context that indicates the file cannot be found. I presume there is some modifications being done internally when the MDB launches, so I am guessing that a folder with some modified permissions should allow this to run successfully in the USER security context.

Which security attributes would allow the MDB to be modified but not deleted?

Answer : Restricted access domain user group with special permissions for Access MDB/MDE files

<<The problem now is that I cannot reference the MDB via a full pathname.>>

As long as you have List Folder at the parent and down to the folder where the DB is, you should be set.

<<I know there is a 'Bypass Traverse Check' in the Local Security profile. If I remove the bypass for Power Users will the folder permissions then become effective?>>

Sorry, don't know the answer to that.
