Question : Switching hardware on a SBS 2003 server

I picked up a new client and the last tech they had did not do them any favors.  Their server had a hard drive go out in it.  It was one of 4 HDD in a RAID 5 in a white box server.  Instead of replacing that failed drive he somehow moved their live SBS 2003 system to a single SATA HDD and put it in a desktop computer with a quad core CPU and 3.25GB of RAM.  He left no notes besides saying that the issue with the old server was "sourced in the disk based system" and that he recommended they replace the server with a "real" server.  I'm not a fan of white box servers but I also know that the box was only 14months old.  Where I am stuck now is how to move back their live SBS environment.  Any and all suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated.  My current thought is to hope that my KNOPIX disk or my P.I.N.G. (PartImage Not Ghost) disk will recognize the hardware.

Are the 2 sata slots already used? if not, mount the second sata and plug it into the open sata port.

I assume both sata slots are filled, since you mentioned the pci slots, you could get an add in card to give more slots. Here is an example.
