Question : Group Policy Printers Administrator Rights

Hi,

In Windows 7, printers that are deployed with Group Policy Printers have many settings in the driver that can only be changed by domain admins. Is there some security setting in group policy that can let us allow regular users to access these settings?

Thanks!

Answer : Group Policy Printers Administrator Rights

I think you may need to assign the "Manage Printers" permission for this to work the way you want to. There aren't any GPO options that allow you to delegate this ability to users, unfortunately. I'm not certain if the Manage Printers right allows users to manage the printer settings on the server or on their local machine, but that's probably where you need to start looking.
