Question : Crashed Exchange Server Restoration

We recently suffered a major issue with our domain controller / exchange server here. As a consquence we have had to set up a new server running Exchange 2010. Now that we have been able to repair the RAID card in our old server (using a paperclip and a peice of paper) we can atleast boot the machine. Obviously we want to decomission this old server and my question is, what is the best method for retriving all the emails stored on our old Exchange 2oo3 server and importing them into the store of the new 2010 server? We have had to dismount the Information store on the 2003 server in order to get exchange to start up correctly, which indicates to me that this is probably corrupted to some degree. Any advice on this would be usefull as im a bit stumped and thought i would try out my new EE subscription.

If you need any more info please ask and i will be happy to provide.

Regards.

Answer : Crashed Exchange Server Restoration

I am assuming you have single DC which had Exchange 2003 on it
If you have Outllook user's in cache mode then you can take PST of user mailbox from Outlook and you can import the PST to back to user Mailbox in Exchange 2010 ( This option will not require Exchange 2003)

Best option will be to get Exchange 2003 back online and then migrate to Exchange 2010
