Question : p2v with out Virtual Machine Manager

Hi,

I need to p2v 5x standalone servers that are not part of a domain. I want to p2v them to a Hyper-V host that is also not on a domain. I tried to use Virtual Machine Manager server, but that wants to be on a domain.

Does anyone know of any tools that can p2v a machine to Hyper-V without Virtual Machine Manager?

Best wishes

Michael

Answer : p2v with out Virtual Machine Manager

I am sorry, I misread your question. I understand the dilemma now.
You have a Hyper-V host in workgroup, which you want to manage through VMM (which is on domain) and then you need P2V a few Win2003 Server (also in workgroup) to this Hyper-V host. I have good new and not-so good news.
You can add the (Workgroup) hyper-V host to SCVMM as a perimeter host

But perimeter host cannot be used as target during the p2V operation i.e. you cannot P2Ved VMs on it.
