Question : Windows Xp Reinstall

Hi
I dont know how this happened but it did.
I had to reinstall windows xp and for some reason it has reinsatlled onto the d drive of the machine and has left me with a samll fat32 c partition and weirdly the boot.ini and other windows xp startup file on it the likes of ntdetect etc.
I need to format that c drive while keeping xp in tact how can i do this?
