Question : Prepopulating result from Lookup Menu

I have many goldmine fields which have YES and NO in the lookup window box. Ive seen in the past when you press either the Y or N key it will complete the field for you so you dont need to type in the entire word. On one of my goldmine clients, this is not working - is there a way to get it to do this?
