Question : Huge PST file, but no files, how is it possible?

I currently have a 6GB pst file for my main outlook 2007 account. This is down from a previous 8GB, but I set a more aggressive archive setting to reduce the drag on my system.

My question is: how can I get this smaller still?

I've tried to compact it manually, but when I do Outlook 2007 hangs and won't respond.

This is on a Windows 7 64-bit i7 machine
