Question : does Office 2007 setup run msp in directory

Does the Office 2007 setup.exe automatically run a msp that has the later date automatically?

I have 2 MSP files in the same directory as the setup.exe
I have run the setup.exe and this installer seems that it automatically chose the latest dated .msp file in the directory.
Is this typical behaviour? i did not point the setup.exe towards either of the customized .msp files
