Question : MBAM and Superantispyware

Hi experts:

I am sure this is a dumb question, but I may as well know. So, all computers are Windows XP Pro. All have ESET NOD32, which has real time scanning and scheduled scanning in the evening.

I run the MBAM and Antispyware software once a week just to make sure I don't miss anything and get rid of the spyware.

So...I am thinking I probably shouldn't run them both at the same time, but if I am wrong and I could, it would save a lot of time.

Second, if I do run them by themselves, they usually want a reboot if they find anything. Can I say no, run the other one and then reboot?

Since ESET is running in realtime, do I need to turn that off?

Thanks.

OK, I know this next question is a tad off topic, but it is very small, and does pertain to running the standalones. I would hate to open an entire question for it. But, if you can't answer it, I will.

Basically, we have one program on the server, which consists of hundreds of files in a folder. I know most do, but this one is a little different. Anyway, the only way it will run correctly on the client is to map it. It then of course opens on the clients and shows itself as a drive. Should that drive be included in the scan or are the files really on the server?

TIA

Bert

Answer : MBAM and Superantispyware

You keep on top of scans which is good:)

If using Mbam weekly, drop Sas.
Mbam is good enough in that dept.

Running scanner while Eset is active will slow process down but whilst scan is running, if Mbam dosn't detect a "bad" file, if its in Eset's signatures/heuristics etc...., it will be brought to its attention and dealth with.

Have a look at Hitmanpro to run as well. Scans very quickly.
Once activated(not needed until removal of malware), you then have 30days of removal. After that, no removal(unless purchased), but you can still scan.
