Question : Layer 2 Netflow statistics from Catalyst 4510R w/ Netflow services card.
Not sure whether this is a Cisco or an Orion issue. I have a large LAN with a Catalyst 4510R w/netflow services card at the core. Also use Orion NPM (ver 10) w/ Netflow module. I am able to collect and display only Vlan statistics, so it seems that the interface must have an IP address to be monitored. Vlan statistics aren't that useful for me. Is it possible for Netflow to collect traffic statistics on the Catalyst physical interfaces, e.g. the fiber interfaces to my Catalyst 3560s at the edge? And for Orion NPM to monitor those stats?
Answer : Layer 2 Netflow statistics from Catalyst 4510R w/ Netflow services card.
I'm not sure that is possible without the links being L3. Take a look at this link and it's associated links. I hope this helps.
