Question : setting up a DC on a 2003 domain for a romote site
I am setting up a DC for one of our branches. We have a WAN, Windows 2003 Domain. I will be setting the DC up at HQ. It will house Active Directory, DNS and DHCP for that branch. I who like to set as much of it as possible at HQ.
I have installed Windows Server 2003 r2 and ran updates, installed Active Directory. I went to install DNS but it wants a static IP and as I'm on a different subnet than it will be on, I couldn't give it the correct one. Can I just give it a free one on the HQ network and change it before I send it? If not what is the best way to do this? all advice appreciated.
Regards,

Yes, you would give it a IP from your current subnet then change it before it ships out.
