Question : Storage and Cluster

Can we have a LUN presented to hosts in two diff clusters? Is there something wrong with doing this?

Answer : Storage and Cluster

Yes, my DEV and PROD clusters that share a LUN are ESX 4.1, this was first set up on ESX 3.5. There are not any issues because VMware uses a combination of techniques -- createing .lck structures for VMs so they will only be running on one node of a cluster, SCSI reservations when the LUN needs to be locked for some reason. It works great.
