Question : High CPU load when copying to/from network with Bitlocker enabled

Hello Everyone

After I enabled BitLocker on my Dell E6400 laptop with SSD harddrive and Windows 7 64-bit installed, then I started getting high cpu load when I copy files to and from the network. Usually the high cpu load is only 1 out of 2 cores and its basicly 100% load on that core. Its most noticeable with larger files, the first 5 seconds usually goes full the speed, but then memory and cpu goes up and my computer gets really slow.

I understand that BitLocker needs to encrypt/decrypt data that is going in and out of the computer, but is my experience with BitLocker normal?

Answer : High CPU load when copying to/from network with Bitlocker enabled

ofcourse you can do it from taskmanager, go to processess and click on cpu usage header to sort in decreasing order to findout the bitlocker process, there you can right click and set cpu affinity(which core to use),cpu priority etc..
If you don't want to do it every time system starts, i suggest try ashampoo core tuner to set the priority of such processes to low permanently....
Hope that helps....
