Question : Is there a size limit for individual users in Exchange

Is there a limit to an individual users mailbox in Microsoft Exchange? We don't set any limits and I have one user with 7G and a few others with 5G and so forth.

Is there an upper limit per user that exchange can handle? I've tried researching this but all I get are instructions on how to set the limits in Active Directory which I already know.

I'm just concerned that if there is a limit that gets reached it might cause some problems.

Answer : Is there a size limit for individual users in Exchange

With Exchange 2007 Standard you max database size is 50gb Thus your maximum user mailbox is 50Gb assuming their are no other users.
With exchange 2007 enterprise there is no max database size,  Hence no user size limit. I have personally seen mailboxes at client sites at 27GB+ In both 2003 and 2007 exchange by the way.

To the best of my knowledge there is no maximum limit, other than the one the administrator (you) can set.

This is where "best practices" take effect.

I hope this helps. Take care.
