Question : Moving SQL server database, sids, users, etc. from a physical machine to a guest on ESX (vmware)

What are the individual steps that one should adhere to when moving a database from physical to virtual and not leave the maintenance plans, users, sid changes, etc out. Does anyone have a comprehensive list that they use for this task?
