Question : Change of Format with input in Excel

I have a spreadsheet where I'm using italics to designate where a user puts in data/information. When they put information in, I'd like for it to change from italics to normal (arial) text so as to designate that the information has been added/changed.  Can you give me a simple way to accomplish this?
