Question : remote shutdown windows xp pro

when I do shudown /m /s \\pcname  ; I got access denied .
the machine is in the same workgoup, I have same username and password on each machine with
admin right.  
your help is appreciated

Check to make sure "Use simple file sharing" is turned off.  Tools > Folder Options > View:
