Question : Append file extension MAC applescript
We are migrating 280,000 MAC files from a Novell 6.5 file server to a Windows 2008 file server. Test migrations have shown that files loose their application association when a MAC file with no file extension is moved to Windows. The files are labeled "Unix Executable File".
I have heard about a standard applescript that will batch append file extensions or add an extension when a file is dropped on it. I have no idea how to locate this applescript on the MAC. We are running OS 10.4; 10.5; and 10.6.
Please help me identify the applescript and if need be how to use it.
Thanks
