Question : Problems Updating VMware Workstation, Cannot Uninstall Old workstation

vmware workstation 7 on a Windows 7 Enterprise x64 platform and I am about to update to version 7.1, but I have encountered a problem:
To upgrade I am forced to uninstall the old installation, but the uninstaller does not manage to do It by itself, i get the error; " Bad Arguments for :C\ProgramData\VMware\VMware Workstation\Uninstaller.exe"

As i check. The location specified does not exist. There is no "Uninstaller" folder there. I am not able to find vmware in the add/remove programs folder either.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Answer : Problems Updating VMware Workstation, Cannot Uninstall Old workstation

I believe I experienced this issue several months ago; it was a bit tedious in how I rectified it. I searched all over (Google) but couldn't find anything specific. So this is what I did....
Do you have any other VMware products installed?...like VI or vSphere Client?...any plug-ins for VI/vSphere? Pretty much any VMware product you have...remove from Add/Remove pgms. Then, in the registry at:
HKLM->SOFTWARE->VMware, Inc....rename VMware, Inc. to VMware, Inc.OLD. (it shouldn't mess with anything but I do advise, when making any registry change, to back up this area BEFORE renaming it; to do so, just right-click on the VMware, Inc. heading/key and select to Export it...you can do so to your desktop and name it as you want to).
Now, go through your install of Workstation...I believe it will work. Once complete, you will then have to reinstall your other VMware products/apps/plug-ins.
