Question : Changing Domain Controllers + DNS - How to get new clients to accept new DNS server
I have transitioned to a new domain controller (2003 R2 to 2008 R2), and have moved the DHCP, DNS, and WINS services as well.
I correctly decommissioned the old domaincontroller by using DCPROMO, and transferred all the FSMO rules and changes to the AD sites etc.
However, I notice that when clients sign onto the network there are two problems:
THe logon server is still 2K3DC1 (previous) and not 2K8R2DC (new)
AND, DHCP works fine, but it is giving out DNS of the other server, and not the new one.
its like it doesnt recognize that my server is running DNS.
I've done ipconfig/release and flushdns. Reboot machines, and notta.
Am I mssing a DNS config?
