Question : Mac UNC directory for scanning

I'm new to the Apple Mac environment and I wanted to know some instrctions on how to find the UNC path name to a Mac laptop/pc.  I need to place a folder on the desktop of a mac.

On my laptop it's the following:

\\pc-name\name of folder on desktop

It doesn't matter in relation to the above - just change the sep
