Question : Backup Exec 2010 running missed backup to tape job ?

Hi All,

At the moment I've successfully create several daily backup job which writes to tape every weekdays as full backup
Backup Job 1 - grab all of the backup1 directory and then write to HP1 LTO-3 tape drive every Monday 9 AM start write - 6 days media set
Backup Job 2 - grab all of the backup2 directory and then write to HP1 LTO-3 tape drive every Tuesday 9 AM start write - 6 days media set
.
.
Backup Job 5 - grab all of the backup5 directory and then write to HP1 LTO-3 tape drive every Friday 9 AM start write - 6 days media set

If somehow there is public holiday on Monday, how to make the write to tape process queued up on Tuesday morning 9 AM for missed Backup Job 1 and then followed by the Backup Job 2 ?

any help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
JJ

Answer : Backup Exec 2010 running missed backup to tape job ?

I don't think it's possible, unless you were using Virtal Tape Library, or Robotic Library.

In backup exec, you can modify the job, in the schedule section on the list of exlcusion dates, and configure al the public holidays - and these dates/days, the backup will not run.

If you were wantng to run backups on Tuesday at 9am in this instance, you can manually do this. os check if the BE 2010 can do missed jobs and make up jobs.

I hav emoved on to CA (due to job change0, but BE 11.5 didn't allow to do what you are wanting to acheive.
I think BE2010 will be no different!
